The Indigenous Wellness Clinic provides primary care services to Indigenous patients of all ages in the Edmonton zone and surrounding areas. Services include but are not limited to family medicine for all ages; chronic disease management; women’s and gender diverse reproductive health; palliative care; mental health and addictions.

This program provides service to First Nations (Status and Non-Status), Métis and Inuit clients and their families, to feel comfortable in hospital, make referrals, provide advocacy, and help plan and support a client’s discharge from hospital.


The Women’s Centre for Health

Edmonton Area

A satellite program of the Boyle McCauley Health Centre. It is staffed by a Nurse Practitioner, Licensed Practical Nurse, and a receptionist providing a walk-in clinic, prenatal care, and STD services to address women’s unique health needs and foster healthy choices and behaviours. The clinic we are provides education on different options of family planning including contraception counselling, prenatal care, support, and education and gynaecological care.

  • Eligible First Nations and Inuit are qualified for 20 hours of counselling each year through Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB), and even more if approved by your psychologist. See Government of Canada’s webpage on Mental Health Counselling Benefits for more information and details about eligibility.
  • Please note some communities, such as Bigstone Cree First Nation, do not go through NIHB for mental health benefits. Please contact your band for counselling supports if they are not covered by NIHB.
