Healthy Relationships

Held weekly for 10 weeks, these two-hour online sessions provide opportunities to increase awareness and education about violence prevention and support for Indigenous women.

With a focus on violence prevention and healthy relationships, weekly topics include:

  • Public Safety for Indigenous Women
  • Planning to Leave
  • New Relationship Safety
  • Dealing with Family
  • Unmotivated Partner
  • Circle of Supports
  • Family Supports
  • Love Yourself

In the Mother Bear’s Embrace program, an Esquao project coordinator and an Elder offer emotional, spiritual, and cultural teachings to support Indigenous women. These include Elder/knowledge keeper support and teachings, cultural crafts, and developing social connections with other women.

It was nice to learn new ways to think about and apply spirituality when many of us never had that opportunity and freedom in life until now to do so.
