Violence Prevention – Mêskanaw (The Path) Program

The Mêskanaw Program (“The Path” in Cree) is a series of eight weekly workshops designed to create awareness on the ways violence presents itself in the Indigenous community.

Mêskanaw is tailored for Indigenous women and aims to empower participants to make better decisions to increase their safety. Women are referred by a community agency and pre-registration is required at least two days before the session date. Barriers to participation such as childcare and transportation can be accommodated.

By joining the program, women will develop a sense of belonging through seven sacred teachings and cultural insights to increase inner strength and confidence. The program also provides resources and engaging guest speakers for immediate connection and support.
